The Voice

That voice that coaches you through life, good or evil, positive or negative, encouraging you or tearing you down, is the voice that often determines the outcome of your own journey through life. The mind is a powerful thing. It can take over at any given point in time tear you down or lift you up. It can create beauty and be life-giving or it can foment hate and be a death blow to yourself and those around you.

The mind, that voice, needs to be tamed, trained and taught how to become an advocate rather than an adversary. I believe you know of which I am talking about. There are many books written on the subject and many resources that we can obtain to address the voice. But the simple truth is very few people actually do. They turn to all sorts of things to tame the voice, to hide the voice, to distract oneself from the voice but rarely address it head on.

No one actually knows where this voice actually comes from. Paul, the apostle, talks about tearing down vain imaginations. He is talking about that voice. That other self inside of your head that talks incessantly. It is a grand idea to simply tear it away and have it be no more. Perhaps that is much easier said than done, however.

There are deeper things than that voice. The reasons behind it. The impetus for its existence. I am interested in those things. We often become the person we tell ourselves we are. Much of the time it is a lie with a hint of the truth. We are all crippled in some way or another and we are all affected by that state of being. But, that ought not to dictate who we are or who we become.

There are tools and methods available to address the voice and all of them take you on a difficult road. Do a little research. Find out ways that you connect with. I will begin to compile resources and avenues to address the voice but the journey is yours and yours alone. Good luck!
